Testimonials Letter from Keith Chambers, Principal of Carnamah District High SCHOOL CARNAMAH WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Quiet Lion Tour 2006
I am writing to thank you for making the Quiet Lion Tour such a memorial experience for Emily, myself and the students of Carnamah High School. As you know, this school has a long and proud association with the Burma Railway Memorial Association and we much value our involvement with the Quiet Lion Tour each year. Our students are immersed in the Burma Thailand Railway aspect of Second World War History and study it in some detail. We also see the chance for our students to attend the Quiet Lion Tour as a unique opportunity for the school and our community. I believe that there are life long lessons to be absorbed and the chance to place one’s existence into perspective.
The Quiet Lion Tour is made more remarkable and special by the presence of the ex-POWs like yourself. To hear first hand your reminiscences and stories is a moving and humbling experience. I firmly believe that the students return with a stronger sense of identity and a better appreciation of the sacrifices made by previous generations.
Thank you once again for your magnificent involvement in the Quiet lion Tour and your immense contribution to the development of these young lives. Best wishes Keith Chambers Principal 11th May 2006
