From Mingenew School Principal Roma Parker. 2008 Quiet Lion Tour

Thank you Eric, sincerely, once again for the top rating job you have completed this year as Tour Organiser etc. You have now earned yourself a rest!
Our appreciation goes to you for the work, time, effort and energies put in to make this trip, yet again, one of the most memorable times for our junior students. They have returned with full compliments to the organisers and those who played such a major part in allowing this whole trip come together - and in particular to our POWs. They have all learnt so much for this opportunity and it will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
(The Mingenew students who have been on this Quiet Lion Tour all gathered
together at the dawn service - which is held in Mingenew each year - and all shared together their time and trip away on this tour. They later discussed their trip all over again after the service at the gun-fire breakfast. They spoke with great depth of meaning and appreciation of the whole event and how they wished to return again to Thailand. Those who went last year were following closely this year's itinerary with great interest and reliving last year's happenings all over again.)
It is such a wonder to see the effect that this Quiet Lion Tour has on people, but in particular, our youngsters. They know that they are a privileged group of people who have been able to be part of this experience and all treasure this opportunity. It is also good to see how they relate to one another on this shared basis years later and we have now had the opportunity to send a lot of youngsters away over the years.
So, Eric, once again, many grateful thanks are expressed to you for the work you have done - and continue to do.

Thankyou!
Kind regards,

Roma Parker
